COMEDIAN WANDA SYKES JOINS W. KAMAU BELL ON “TOTALLY BIASED”

New York, NY – November 14, 2012 – W. Kamau Bell welcomes comedian Wanda Sykes as his guest this Thursday, November 15 @ a special time – 12:00am-12:30am ET/PT a Thanksgiving installment of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.

Wanda Sykes has been called “one of the funniest standup comics” by her peers and ranks among Entertainment Weekly’s 25 Funniest People in America. Over the past two years, she hosted The Wanda Sykes Show, a late night talk show on FOX, returned to HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm opposite Larry David, and premiered her second HBO standup special, I’ma Be Me,” in which she tackled topics like the first black President, gay cruises, being a new mom and aging. The special was nominated for two 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards. On the big screen, she appeared in the feature films Evan Almighty, Monster-in-Law and My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and leant her voice talents to the hit animated films Ice Age: Continental Drift, Over The Hedge, Barnyard and Rio. Her first book, “Yeah, I Said It” (Simon & Schuster), a hilarious collection of essays touching on life, family and current events hit bookstores in September 2004.
Totally Biased, from Bell and Executive Producers Chris Rock, Chuck Sklar and Keri Smith Esguia, stars standup comedian W. Kamau Bell as he hilariously dissects politics, pop culture, race, religion, sex and the media from his own unique point of view. The show features live guests and taped segments. The show is produced by FX Productions.
W. Kamau Bell, recently declared by The New York Times to be “the most promising talent in political comedy in many years,” is one of the fastest rising socio-political comics in the United States. A founding member of the stand-up comedy collective “Laughter Against the Machine,” Kamau is also co-host of The Field Negro Guide to Arts & Culture podcast with Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid. His recent stand up album, Face Full of Flour, was named one of the Top 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2010 by iTunes and Punchline Magazine. Bell is best known for his critically acclaimed solo show “The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour,” which was a Time Out New York Critic’s Pick in the 2010 NY Comedy Festival, and a comedy pick in The Guardian during its 2011 run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In December, Bell will be touring the country with his new stand up show, “The Kamau Mau Uprising.”
