KIRSTIE ALLEY is back on prime time and I say it’s about time!  A&E brings us into the life of EMMY and GOLDEN GLOBE winner and actress extraordinaire, Kirstie Alley.  KIRSTIE ALLEY’S BIG LIFE will cover everything Kirstie, from her weight loss program to her success in raising a couple of normal teenagers in the paparazzi crazed Hollywood.  Not only does Kirstie act, she is also producing a feature film and working on patenting multiple inventions.  I’ve been a fan of Kirstie since CHEERS where she played Rebecca Howe.  She has also starred in a ton of films and television shows, some of which are STAR TREK II, LOOK WHO’S TALKING, DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, VERONICA’S CLOSET, FAT ACTESS, MADHOUSE and my favorite JOHN CARPENTER’S VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED with CHRISTOPHER REEVE.   She has also hosted SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE twice.  Kirstie stars opposite JAKE GYLLENHAAL and JESSICA BIEL in the soon to be released, new independent romantic comedy NAILED, directed by DAVID O. RUSSELL.

The first episode of KIRSTIE ALLEY’S BIG LIFE is entitled, The Tipping Point and it introduces us to the cast of characters in Kirstie’s life, her two children Lillie and True, her handyman  and Chubby Buddy Jim Hazel, her assistant Kelly Coleman and her assistant’s apprentice Kyle Little.  I must say I am in awe of her extended furry family consisting of  cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas and eight ringtail lemurs, yes, you read that correctly, the woman has ringtail lemurs, how cool is that!  As a proud chinchilla mommy myself, I love that she has chosen to adopt one rather than wear one.  Kirstie Alley is wise to the fact that chinchillas make far better companions than coats.  Kirstie is plagued by the paparazzi that will do anything to get really unflattering photos of her and persist to shout rude things at her in typical paparazzi fashion.  We get introduced to quite a bit of handyman Jim and I’m certain he is a great plumber.  I didn’t know what to expect going into this show but I was pleasantly surprised and I will definitely be a weekly loyal viewer.  Kirstie opens up about her past and is refreshingly honest.   I love the fact that she is just being herself in front of the world and I know that she will inspire people to tackle their problems with a smile.  What a fun way to spend your Sunday night!

The second installment of KIRSTIE ALLEY’S BIG LIFE, Good Help is Hard to Find takes us into the fun experience of finding the proper personal trainer for Kirstie and her chubby buddy.  Kyle has to earn his keep because apparently, finding a non-creepy trainer is a task on its own.  Will the duo be in and out on their weight loss plans or will something stick?  Pictures are taken and uncomfortable positions are attempted but not necessarily together or in that order.  You get to learn how evil and rude video games are.  Watch Sunday night to find out which trainer will be working with Kirstie and Jim in helping them develop into smaller, healthier versions of themselves.  If you are looking for a run of the mill show then look somewhere else because Kirstie Alley has one hell of a sense of humor and she is not afraid to use it.  Watch KIRSTIE ALLEY’S BIG LIFE on Sunday nights starting at 10 PM EST on A&E.
