Tonight’s episode of Hannibal is my favorite so far this season. It really sets things in motion and features a very startling occurrence. Hannibal is a series that you just watch in complete wonderment. There is really nothing like it on television. Hannibal will nourish all of your senses. You are not going to want to miss tonight’s episode.
Last week on Hannibal, we relived that bloody season two finale. We got a chance to delve deeper and experience it through Will’s (Hugh Dancy) eyes. It was even more painful. Will had to say goodbye to Abigail (Kacey Rohl) once again. Hugh Dancy is brilliant in this series. He plays the tortured Will Graham so perfectly. Let’s not forget that last line, “Hannibal, I forgive you.”
Hannibal’s (Mads Mikkelsen) conversation with Bedelia (Gillian Anderson) tonight really puts things into perspective. Betrayer or betrayed? So many question. You can almost smell the detrimental outcomes afoot. At least someone seems to have a plan. Thank goodness Hannibal has his “memory palace” because he can never return home.
While exploring Hannibal’s childhood home in Lithuania, Will comes across a potential ally. We meet Chiyo (Tao Okamoto) tonight. One of the first scenes that she’s in brings me back to the time a Hawk retreated to my yard to have some alone time with that sparrow he just snatched…feathers, lots and lots of feathers. I can’t get that image of the Hawk out of my head when I see feathers being strewn about. Chiyo holds the key to the past, but at what cost? Things are really going to get interesting.
Hannibal and Bedelia always manage to find people to share their table with. You get a double dose of that tonight. Hannibal is a stickler for technicalities. Creepy eaters aplenty this evening, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. Would you have it any other way? Oh, how I love this show.
I love when Hannibal shows his softer side, or perhaps he’s just planning another career change. Bedelia is almost as calculated as Hannibal is, but she doesn’t really seem to want to admit it. They are dangerously perfect for each other.
Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) is brutally honest with himself. It’s refreshing to see someone own up the way he does. I expect we will be seeing more of him in future episodes.
You are obviously not going to want to miss tonight’s episode of Hannibal. As always, it’s perfection. Way to go Hannibal team! This show has the ability to knock you out of your comfort zone. There are some stunning visuals tonight. You’ll be in awe of the crafty construction skills that are displayed and in record time.
