AMERICAN IDOL, HUMAN TARGET, BONES,
FRINGE AND NASCAR ON FOX: SUBWAY FRESH FIT 600 DRIVES
FOX TO WEEKLY WIN AMONG ADULTS 18-49, ADULTS 18-34 AND TEENS
Strong performances by AMERICAN IDOL, HUMAN TARGET, BONES, FRINGE and NASCAR’S: SUBWAY FRESH FIT 600 led FOX to a weekly win among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. FOX remains this season’s No. 1 network, showing an advantage of +12% in the adult demo over the next highest rated broadcast network and is also showing +3% gains versus the same weeks last season among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.
Powerhouse AMERICAN IDOL’s Tue/Wed average this week substantially outperformed ABC’s Dancing With The Stars Mon/Tue average by +69% among Adults 18-49 and +13% in Total Viewers. So far this season, AMERICAN IDOL’s average is on par with the same weeks last year with Most Current ratings vs. comparable Most Current, showing 93% retention among Adults 18-49, 94% among Adults 18-34, 97% among Teens and 94% in Total Viewers.
Tuesday’s AMERICAN IDOL Top 9 performance show posted a 7.3/20 among Adults 18-49 and dominated the night among all key demos. FOX beat its nearest competitors by +143% among Adults 18-49, +120% among Adults 18-34, +267% among Teens and +48% in Total Viewers. In addition, the AMERICAN IDOL performance show posted 9.5 Mil Adult 18-49 viewers, +42% more than Dancing With The Stars’ performance show on Monday (6.7 Mil. Adults 18-49) and significantly out-rated Monday’s Dancing With The Stars by +53% among Adults 18-34 and +120% among Teens.
The following night, HUMAN TARGET and AMERICAN IDOL combined to give the network a nightly win among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos and showed an advantage of +69% over the next highest-rated network among Adults 18-49, +113% among Adults 18-34, +150% among Teens and +43% among Total Viewers.
HUMAN TARGET delivered a 2.2/7 among Adults 18-49 and won the hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers and other key demos. In a very dramatic Top 9 Results show, AMERICAN IDOL posted a 6.7/18 among Adults 18-49 and won its hour among all key demos. AMERICAN IDOL results show also significantly out-rated Dancing With The Stars’ Tues results show by +168% among Adults 18-49 and +63% in Total Viewers.
On Thursday, BONES posted a 2.8/9 among Adults 18-49 and showed impressive increases versus last week of +17% among Adults 18-49 and +15% among Total Viewers. In head to head competition in the 8p hour BONES outperformed ABC’s Flash Forward by +75% among Adults 18-49 and ranked No. 1 in Adults 18-34 (tie) and Men 18-34 in the hour. At 9PM, FRINGE delivered a 2.3/7 among Adults 18-49 and grew +5% compared to last week among Adults 18-49 and +9% in Total Viewers.
Saturday’s NASCAR ON FOX: SUBWAY FRESH FIT 600 led FOX to a No. 1 rank for the night on a total primetime basis among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and all key male demos.
Season-To-Date
Compared to the same weeks of the 08/09 season (9/22/08-4/12/09), FOX is up +3% among Adults 18-49 (3.7/10 vs. 3.6/10) and up +3% among Total Viewers (10.0 vs. 9.7 Mil). Among Adults 18-49: CBS (+3%) is up, The CW is even and ABC (-7%) and NBC (-3%) are down.
